New York Fashion Week is perhaps the biggest week of the year in the fashion world. Top fashion designers work hard for months to prepare for the events of the week to showcase their latest work. Each year fashion designers do their best to create over the top pieces.
After this year’s Fashion Week there are many trends seen intertwined between fashion designers this season. Designers like Calvin Klein and Balenciaga have noticeably incorporated a rubber trend into their styles. “100% Nitrile / Synthetic Rubber,” these brands are taking rubberized materials and making them into chic clothing options.
Asymmetrical necklines have also made way to the red carpets this award season so it’s no surprise to see designers doing the same on the runway. Fabric lays around the shoulder, twists around your neck and wraps around your shoulder. Don’t be surprised when this trend continues on the red carpets throughout the next year.
The fanny pack has also been a major trend with celebrity such as Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and more. Most recently, Givenchy, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, and Alexander Wang have all incorporated this trend into their runway looks. Celebrities and fashion designers alike have styled this traditional bag in a perhaps untraditional way. Instead of styling it around the belt line, many have been wearing this bag around the shoulder, across the body, or around the waist line. Nevertheless, this trend seems to be here to stay.
Lavender has been a big color throughout this runway season. Expect to see many wearing lavender colored clothing within the next couple months. Women’s all-white professional pant suits made their way to the fall/winter 2019 runway. This sleek look allows for a changeup in the office and women's professional world as a whole.
But feathers, feathers, feathers. They’re making a comeback as well. Saint Laurent, Moschino, Topshop and more have officially brought back the feathered trend. Designers are using feathers on dresses, shirts, pants and even shoes. This trendy style has made ways in and out of the runway for years.
Almost everyone owns a plain white tank top, right? Well you’re in luck if you do. This simple style was a hot topic seen on models this fashion season. Moncler, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, and Miu Miu, just to name a few, have all incorporated a white tank top into their runway styles.
But it doesn’t stop there. Oversized everything is taking over As seen in celebrities’ streetwear, oversized jackets, pants, and tee shirts have been all the rage the past few months. The top fashion designers have taken this into account in their runway looks this season. Models were seen walking down the runway in oversized jackets and pants creating a chic yet messy vibe.
New York Fashion Week is one the craziest but most exciting times of the year for everyone involved. Designers finally have the ability to present their collections that they have been working tirelessly on for months. It’s no wonder there was so much hype putting together what was showcased for many celebrities and other fashion designers going into the spring season.
