Men’s Volleyball-The men defeated Thiel 3-2 on Feb. 26 and Hiram 3-1 on March 2, and lost to Geneva 3-2 on March 2. Against Thiel, Seniors Anthony Sprentz and Tyler Herrmann had double-doubles as the Lions notched their seventh-straight win against the team. This Saturday, the Lions face Neumann at the Junker Center at 11 a.m. On Sunday, they face Wilson College at 1 p.m. and Wells at 3 p.m. Both games are at Wells.


Baseball-The Lions went 3-5 on their trip to Fort Pierce, Fla. over spring break. The team started off their year with an 8-4 win over Wilkes, before dropping four straight games. The Lions ended the week strong, winning two-out-of-three games. They are in action this Sunday in a doubleheader at Muskingum at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  


Softball-The Lady Lions participated in The Sunkissed Games in Florida over spring break, finishing with a record of 6-4. From Tuesday through Friday, the ladies went undefeated winning 5 straight games. The team plays again Saturday in a doubleheader at Christopher Newport, with games at 1 and 3 p.m.


Men’s Basketball-On March 1, the Lions lost 72-70 in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament against Hamilton. Seniors Justin Gorny and Mike Fischer led the team with 17 points apiece.


Men’s Track and Field- The Lions finished 13th out of 40 teams at the All-Atlantic Conference Championships on March 1 and 2. Sophomore Braeden Smith qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships by winning the Men’s High Jump. Junior Chris Drozynski set a school-record time of 8:43.23 in the 300m while taking 6th place. At the D-III Championships, Smith medaled in the High Jump and Sophomore Jack Georgetson placed 15th in the Pole Vault.


Women’s Track and Field- The Lady Lions finished 22nd out of 40 teams at the All-Atlantic Conference Championships on March 1 and 2. Over the weekend, two school records were broken, as Junior Riley Crissman finished 8th while running a time of 18:14.12 in the 5000m, and Sophomore Savanna Carr, Junior Gabrielle Loeffler, Senior Jenna Shelton, and Senior Courtney Sargent finished 6th while running a time of 12:34.17 in the women’s DMR.


Wrestling-Sophomore Jake Paulson represented Behrend at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in Roanoke, Va. on March 8. Paulson lost both of his matches and did not advance to the second day of competition, finishing with a 28-5 record for the season.


Women’s Bowling-The Lady Lions won three games at the AMCC Round Robin Tournament on March 2 and 3. The team finished 3-4 for the tournament, coming in 5th out of 8 teams. The team was led in scoring by Junior Brianna Lundy. The Lady Lions are inactive this week.


Women’s Water Polo-The Lady Lions lost 7 of 8 matches over spring break, moving to a record of 1-11 on the season. They picked up their first win against Utica on Saturday at the CWPA Regional I. On Sunday, Senior Lauren Wood broke Behrend’s all-time record for goals when she scored her 159th goal as a Lady Lion. The team plays at Wittenberg on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.


Men’s Tennis-The Lions went winless in Hilton Head over spring break, falling to a record of 1-5. The men lost three of their matches by a score of 8-1, against St. Vincent, Penn State Harrisburg, and Lebanon Valley, while losing a close match against Moravian 5-4. Sophomore Belden Tuttle won all of his singles matches on the week. The Lions are slated to face Otterbein on Saturday.


Women’s Tennis-The Lady Lions lost both of their matches at Hilton Head over spring break. The team was defeated twice by a score of 9-0, by Penn State Harrisburg on March 5 and by Lebanon Valley on March 7.
